My Aunt Pan Pan Famous Sweet Southern Iced Tea

Summer in the south ain't summer without Sweet Iced Tea! My Aunt Pansy who we affectionately call "Aunt Pan Pan" makes some of the world's best Sweet Iced Tea! As kids, we awaited her making this cool refreshing treat like city kids await

Though she has not revealed her Sweet Tea recipe secret, our Fab Foodie Club's version comes mighty close!

Famous Southern

Sweet Iced Tea

You Will Need:

8 cups of water

(For 1/2 gallon pitcher)

5 Family size tea bags of Lipton

(or your favorite black tea)

-One can of chunk pineapple. Drain juice off of the pineapple chunks and place them in a separate bowl. Set aside both pineapple juice and pineapple chunks to be used later.

-*2 cups of sugar (*Add more or less sugar to your desired sweetness)

-Bring 8 cups of water to a boil. Turn off

-Add 5 family size tea bags to the hot water. Let them steep ( sit in the water) for 5 minutes. Take out tea bags.

-Add 2 cups of sugar to the water. Stir until sugar has dissolved.

-In a large pitcher the drained juice from the can of pineapple and a few pineapple chunks

-Pour warm tea into the pitcher. Stir and taste.

-Place the pitcher of tea in the freezer until the tea becomes slightly slushy

-Place the pitcher of tea into the fridge until it is ready to be served.
