Doughnut Fried Chicken Sandwich

BABEE, when I tell you this sandwich isn't for the faint of heart, IT AIN'T!

Wednesday, June 29th was National Chicken Wing Day, as we were on our chicken wing run at Publix, we saw their recipe for Doughnut Fried Chicken Sandwiches. Instead of picking up wings, we opted to get Publix's 8 piece fried chicken and headed down the street around the corner to the Doughnut King of the South, Winston Salem, NC born,

Krispy Kreme to pick up a dozen doughnuts to make this intriguing Doughnut Fried Chicken Sandwich.

This sandwich's "Day at the Fair" indulgent taste tantalizes your taste buds and halfway in, you'll realize that this sandwich is much bigger than your appetite can handle! After you have eaten as much as your heart's desire, wash your sandwich down with some cool high-quality H2O, warning DON'T drink a good ole glass of sweet tea or Mt. Dew, cause honey, I promise you, you will be howling at the moon like a crazed hound dog from the sugar rush!

This quick sandwich is fun and sinfully delicious! I put a southern twist to mine by making a Texas Pete Hot Sauce mayo mix! Be brave! Try it!

Doughnut Fried Chicken

  • Two warm doughnuts

  • Lettuce

  • Two strips of bacon

  • Chicken breast or thigh

  • Slice of Cheddar cheese

  • Lettuce

  • A dab of mayo and Texas Pete Hot Sauce mixed together.

Fry bacon or place in the oven at 400 degrees until done

Place cheese on top of the chicken, place in the oven at 400 degrees until melted

Place the chicken with melted cheese on top of one doughnut. Add lettuce on top of chicken and cheese, on top of the lettuce add two slices of cooked bacon. Add a dollop of your Texas Pete mixture, and top with another doughnut!

ENJOY!
